Anchor Bay

I thought I should blog about our trips to Anchor Bay recently because I have some really cute pictures and we had a great time. For those of you who are wondering "Where is Anchor Bay?", it is on the northern California coast between Fort Bragg and Bodega Bay. The Carter family owns a portion of Anchor Bay Campground, which has it's own beach access to the ocean. If you are interested in learning more about the campground or for reservations click here. Then call me so I can meet you there! ;)So we have a permanent site there that we camp in when we are there. My mother and father-in-law have a fifth wheel that they take to the site when they are there so we just bummed off of them and stayed in their hide-a-bed while we were there this time. It is first class camping in an RV! Anyway, Jason and his Dad finished the deck they built along the creek that runs parallel to our campsite and the kids had a lot of fun on the beach. I forgot to take pictures of the deck but it looks awesome! They did a great job with the redwood and the steel wire railing which keeps the view unobstructed and it is really nice. I'll have to post a picture next time we go up.
Jason and I took the kids to the beach at low tide when a lot of the sea creatures are easy to find and Sadie especially loved it! We caught crabs, sea anemones, hermit crab, snails, muscles, sea urchins, star fish and sun fish. Sadie got really good at catching the crab and wasn't afraid to touch anything!
We also played at the bottom of a waterfall that empties into the ocean. The worst part about playing at the beach is afterwards everyone needs a bath and clean clothes. It gets to be a lot of work.

What a fun place!!! Your kids are getting so cute. I hope that we can meet up in Declo/Burley sometime soon. Are you going to be out there at Christmas?
