My Valentine

Jason and I were able to spend Friday before Valentines Day out together at the Temple and then pack in way too many calories for one night at Fenton's Creamery. If you have never been there I would have to describe these old fashioned ice cream treats as a small MOUNTAIN of yummyness. Besides the ice cream, they make all the toppings (fudge, caramel, butterscotch, etc.) You get the point. :) So on Valentine's Day Jason made me a wonderful dinner at home. Hamburgers! But these weren't just any hamburgers. These were "Western Stuffed Burgers" with caramelized onions, bacon, cheddar and barbecue sauce stuffed in the center. Yummy! I had to take a picture of this creation because the size of the burger compared the the size buns he bought was pretty hilarious! Bigger is always better, right?

The bun looked like a little hat on the top of the burger! I think he is trying to fatten me up for some reason... Hmm... At any rate these are so yummy!

For dessert I made us each a "Baked Alaska". I have been doing very good at following my daily exercise routine I started (another New Years Resolution) but don't be surprised if I start gaining weight instead! With all these yummy desserts and this major baking kick I've been on lately I'm sure I will pay for it down the road!

It was nice having a Valentines dinner at home and not dealing with crowds at the restaurants. And it was nice to get a break from making dinner too. :)

Actualy I did take one but it turned out really blurry. Maybe I could use the help of a "photography nerd"?

It's a dome shaped dessert with brownie and ice cream layered inside and then sealed with a meringue topping. It looks like an igloo. At school we torched it but I didn't have one of those at home so I just baked it in the oven. :)

The hamburger looks really funny! maybe you guys should have added two or three buns in order to cover the meat. :)
