So we set off to Bass Lake to experience camping Alvies/Lason style. The theme of the trip was "It's ok, We're camping!"
What? The kids are getting dirty? Its ok, we're camping!
Jumping on the beds? We're camping!

Junk food before dinner? All part of camping!
Bass Lake was all about relaxing. Every second was not planned out and we just took the day as it came. We went swimming, played games, read books, and took the kids exploring. And the food was great! Jenni's mom was cooking around the clock it seemed.
Everyone wanted a chance to use the awesome hammock they brought up. I want one of those!

The girls loved playing dolls,
while the boys played with their cars.
I wished Jason had come up too, it was a little rough dealing with the kids without him and it would have been fun to spend relaxing time with him. Thank goodness everyone helped me a little bit with holding the baby and chasing Braden when he decided to go on an adventure by himself across a busy road or into the woods! Jenni even hosed Braden down once when he pooped in his swimsuit before I had put his diaper back on! Only a true friend (and fellow mom) would clean up that kind of mess!
Needless to say, by the end of the trip I was feeling a little less independent, and a lot more dependant then I liked. The kids got colds and were coughing and sneezing and poor Mackenzie would not sleep good at all! We did have fun though and hopefully we will do it again - next time with Jason and without the colds!

Sounds like my kind of vacation! Minus the absent husband of course. You are one brave woman!
Again, I seriously don't know how you do it!!!!
what a great theme! what part of brazil is your brother in?
It looks like you had some great fun! Glad it wasn't too overwhelming for you!
That's what I do, take the kids by myself. I have driven to Utah I don't know how many times by myself. It is always an adventure. So happy you got some down time and some help with the kids. Good for you!!! Hope the kids feel better soon. Remember I am around if you need some help and so is Becky. [even if you just want to go to the store by yourself, that is always a high light for me.]
"So what? We're camping!" I love that mentality, but now I am stuck with the laundry!! It was so much fun. I am so glad you came with the kids! Poo Poo on Jason!!
