Ever since Braden's birthday, Sadie had been looking forward to hers. She kept telling Braden that her party would be better than his. I admit though, I didn't get it together for Sadie like I did for Braden. We had the dance performance and Primary Activity that I was in charge of the week before, then the Father and Son's Outing that I had to get the boys ready for was the same weekend while still working around Baseball and school. Ahhh! It has been such a busy month. I was so grateful for the parents that brought their kids to Sadie's little party at Skipolini's pizza and helped make it a fun day for her on such short notice.
Things didn't go quite as planned but Sadie had such a great time with her friends, she didn't even seem to notice or be upset about it at all. The kids were supposed to assemble their own pizzas (Sadie really wanted to have a cooking party, this seemed like a perfect solution - no mess to clean up at home!), however, Skipolini's must have misunderstood me and brought out 6 COOKED personal pizzas. The place was PACKED and the kids were hungry already so I just let it go instead of complaining to management. Looking back, I really should have complained, the whole reason for purchasing the little pizzas was so they could put it together themselves, one large pizza would have been much cheaper if we were getting cooked anyway! I also brought a craft for the kids to do and keep (since Sadie LOVES doing crafts), that went over good, but since the place was so busy I was wishing we had a little more space to do it in. The kids had a lot of fun playing on the play structure there.. and yelling at the older boys that weren't being so nice...
then we had ice cream cake and Sadie opened her presents. She got so many cute, fun things from her friends.
The next day Jason and Braden came home from the Father and Son's outing and we were able to celebrate her actual birth date with them. Nana and Papa also came over and gave her a kids camera (supposed to be nearly unbreakable!) She has been having a lot of fun with that. And now she doesn't have to sneak off with mine! :)
She also got a new "Little Mermaid" nightgown (see first picture) and Little Mermaid aquarium with a guppy and a frog. (Here we go again with the fish!) And then we went out to see a movie together, which turned out to be a really cute movie!
It was funny because the next day we got a phone call that Jason's parents had something in their attic. It sounded really big and maybe dangerous so they asked Jason to come over with his pellet gun. I guess we still had this movie on our minds because we kept joking that Jason was going over to Nana and Papa's to train a dragon in their attic. Braden dressed up like a "warrior" for the event too. So funny!

Wow! Amber, look at you blog! Seemed like a fun birthday activity, too bad you couldn't do your own little pizzas as planned. We really liked that movie as well, too bad Glen got a little awnry at the end because Naomi wanted to leave. I think we are sticking to movies at home for a while longer. Braden looks funny with his warrior gear. So what was in the attic?
how fun! i probably would have complained about the pizzas, since it did cost more, but hey....maybe it was less messy? lol. looks like a good party idea to me though!
PS--i just saw that you have like 5 new posts. i guess it wasn't updating on my blog. sorry. i read them all just now though :)
Fun, fun, fun! I'm sure Sadie was thrilled with her party. It may have been for the better that Skip's brought out regular pizza. The pizza's the kids get to make are not good at all. It's pita bread. We ended up throwing a lot of little pizza's away. You do awesome parties!
Happy Birthday Sadie!
Okay, what was in the attic?
Nothing! That they could find anyway, but they swear it sounded huge that night! Maybe somehow a racoon or badger or something got up there? Or maybe it was just a big rat that sounded bigger than it was? Anyway, they blocked any holes it may have came through so hopefully it wont be back!
