Summer Fun!

Here are some pictures of the highlights of our summer!

Sadie and Braden were Tadpoles on the Swim Team

Since the Robert's kids were on the swim team too, Mackenzie played with Kira while the older kids did their practices.

At the end of the season, the tadpoles had a kick board race.

Sadie and Braden were racing next to each other and both were very competitive against each other.  Sadie kept checking where Braden was instead of swimming as fast as she could.  It was a pretty close race!
(Sadie is in the closest row, Braden is the next one over)
Here they are with their prices!

Everyone received a participation ribbon and some candy and toys!

We went to visit the Morleys in Susanville for the weekend of July the 4th.  We were very busy boating on Lake Almanor, hiking the Burney Falls and visiting the Subway Caves.  We were able to see the fireworks over the lake as well.

The kids and I made a stop at the Train Museum in Sacramento.  It was really neat!  I had to go to Sacramento to renew Jason's contractor license so we got there for the last hour before it closed.  They didn't charge us anything to go in and look since it was closing soon so we want to go back again when we have more time to look at everything and maybe go on a little train ride!  :)

We were able to go with the Robert's to Chuck E Cheese

and Contra Loma water park!

(Our two look-alikes!)

(All the Robert's and Carter blondies together!  The had a lot of fun playing in the sand and water!)

We also went to a splash park with our friends the Anglsey's.

A funny story while we were here:  Braden loved climbing the rock and he was really good at it too!  One time he got to the top and pulled his shorts down and announced to me "I'm going to go pee."  I quickly yelled "No, No, Braden!  You can't pee on this rock!  People climb on it!"  It took a little convincing but he did not pee on the rock finally pulled his shorts back up.  When he got to the bottom I asked him if he wanted to go pee in the bathrooms now.  He then said "It's ok.  I don't have to go anymore."  I guess he just wanted to mark his territory!

We have done a few art projects together:

(Love how Braden had his tongue sticking out and mimicking the motions his hands were doing!)

(Mackenzie's art projects have mostly been on everything but the paper and coloring books she has to color on!)

Jason bought a new toy.  A kayak to use in the ocean.

He loves fishing and now he doesn't need to wait for anyone to go out with him.  (This could be a bad thing... I might never see him on the weekend again!)

The rest of us also were having fun while Jason was trying out his new kayak.  I think Braden was having a little too much fun...

Glenden and Patty came down from Utah for a visit.  I took the kids to join up with them at Monterey to see the Aquarium

We also went to Small World Park in Pittsburg with them (minus Patty)

(Braden insisted I take his picture in this cut out!)

It has been a fun summer.  I can't believe school starts next week for Braden already!  Sadie is the week after.  It goes by too fast!!!  :'(

Wow Amber! Your kids are lucky to have such fun parents who take them to so many cool places! Love all the pics and the updates!!
I had to look twice to decide which on was Makenzie and which one was the Robert's little girl. They really do look alot alike, especially when all you can see is all that blond hair!
