A Week at the Coast

The last week in July we spent a week vacation at Anchor Bay with Nana & Papa and Uncle Chris, Cousin Zackary and Cousin Cameron.  It was FREEZING cold the first few days but when the sun came back out for the last few days of the trip I was loving it!  It was nice to be out of the crazy hot July sun in Antioch, but the sun at the coast is soooo nice!

THE BEACH

Here is Cameron digging a hole.  I asked if he would dig to China and he said no, probably not but maybe down to the Devil in Hell.  LOL!

We worked on our sand castle building skills...

Getting better!

Ran in the waves...

And threw rocks into the water...

ROCK CLIMBING

Braden did his best to see if he could break his head, but luckily for me no injuries!

RELAXING

Watching a movie in the trailer

Sitting around the campfire... Carter style!  ;)

KAYAKING

Sadie and Braden both were able to go out on the kayak for a quick fishing trip with Daddy.  Here is Braden launching the kayak.

Jason - notice no paddles.  This is a pedal kayak which is nice for ocean kayaking keeping arms free for fishing while keeping up with the current.

Brian on Chris' kayak

GOOD FOOD

Luckily for us, the kayakers, Jason and Chris brought in some good fish and crab for us to cook up and some to freeze for another (many) dinners!

Dutch oven potatoes, yum!

BIKING THE TRAIL AT
VAN DAMME STATE PARK

This trail was beautiful!  It was a couple miles long, along side a little creek.

There were all these bridges on it going back and forth over the water.

Braden still doesn't have a bike since his was stolen and we had planned on having him ride his scooter, but it was too rocky for him to maneuver very quickly on and we finally convinced him to ride in the trailer with Mackenzie.

He also took over camera duty...

SHIP WRECKED DINNER AT THE CAMPGROUND

Not many pictures of it, but as you can see in this picture of Chris, Cameron and Zack, the campers went all out again with the decor for this event.  They even built a paper mache volcano with real fire at the top!

MISS YOU UNTIL NEXT TIME,
ANCHOR BAY!

Agree with the comments above (although I probably wouldn't go as often as you) and one day we'll have to tag along.
