I also made some deserts and some sauces (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) to show them how to "do up" a dessert plate. The brownie is missing its strawberry on top. The cheesecake looks like someone took a bite out of the end.

Culinary Presentation
I was asked to do a presentation for YW yesterday and it a good chance to review some of the things I did at school. I decided to teach them a little bit about food presentation. I thought that would be interesting to them and I think they did enjoy learning a little bit about it. I didn't think about taking pictures of the things I went over with them until now so some of the food doesn't look as good in the pictures as it did yesterday when we did it.
Some of the vegetable garnishes I taught them how to make. Above is a chili flower, green onion brush, carrot freesia, and a radish rose - garnishes for different plates of food.

I think Jason is jealous that I don't go through all that trouble for our meals at home. Right now I am all about keeping things simple and fast so I can worry about other things. Oh, well. Someday, right?

Those look amazing. I would have loved a class on that type of thing. Part of me really wishes I did culinary school
Nice Job Amber! I was never that good at the Garde Mange (sp) portion of my Culinary Arts School. I liked what you picked to show them. I hear ya, I rarely cook at home, Traci does most of that. :( Its tough to juggle work and cooking- so we aren't faulting you!
WOW, that looks delicious, you made MY favorite desserts!
