Excuse me, are you 18 yet?

Are you kidding me? That's what I was asked when I went to JC Penny today for the Grand Opening by one of the guys trying sign up people on JC Penny credit cards. I get questions like that from strangers all the time! I've even been given a lecture about teenage pregnancy from someone that assumed I was a teen. I'm told that it is a complement when people think you are younger, but I don't think so. Especially when I am visibly pregnant and toting around a 2 year old and 4 year old that call me "mom". That would make me 14 when I had Sadie if I was 18 now.

I'm hoping someday I can at least get past 18!

All I can say is enjoy these days because someday you'll wish you look younger.

heh heh! When I was pregnant with Maile, I went to the Kaiser clinic for my appointment & they asked me..."oh, are you here for the teen clinic?"
Um, no. I'm 24 and work as a RN for Kaiser for the past 2 years.
...hmmm, wonder why I never get asked this anymore?? Must be looking OLD!
