Since Sadie's school is actually a building on the fairgrounds, when the fair came to town this year it was hard to ignore! The school had a breakfast for the kids and their families and then we were all able to explore the fair before the crowds came in. We didn't do any rides but enjoyed seeing the animals and some shows they had as well. The kids LOVED the rabbits and birds area...
And Mackenzie screamed and cried when she saw the scary big pigs! I have to sympathise with her, they are ugly looking creatures!
We saw a show with 5 different kinds of monkeys acting in it, along with their trainers. It was entertaining and the big orangutan was a little intimidating to see! I guess he was actually in a few movies, one being "Evan Almighty"
We saw another show with more animals and reptiles.
The woman doing the show asked for volunteers multiple times to come up and Sadie raised her hand for all of them. One time she brought up this HUGE snake, I think she said it was a python, and a bunch of the kids that were volunteering quickly sat back in their seats when she brought it out and Sadie raised her hand again to come up, even after seeing it she was wanting to go up! Her friend Kiersten got to help hold it though.
Braden was happy enough with the turtle, no need for those bigger reptiles!

It is funny how our kids are not only matching in age and gender, but in personality so much. It must have something to do with your order in the family (oldest girl, middle child, etc.).
Your county fair is A LOT different than ours. Much cleaner for one thing:) Looks like your kids had fun though:)
